A vinyl cutter is a fantastic tool for creating precise and intricate designs on vinyl sheets, which can be applied to various surfaces like signs, t-shirts, windows, and more.
Utilizing a blade to cut your digital designs into vinyl, it operates similarly to a printer, but instead of ink, it uses pressure and precision to slice through material.
With user-friendly design software, individuals can create or upload their designs, adjust settings according to the vinyl type and the detail of the design, and then send their project to the cutter for execution.
The process is relatively straightforward, making vinyl cutters an accessible and versatile tool for both beginners and experienced creators looking to bring their designs to life in a tactile and durable form.
The vinyl cutter cuts single-color decals, wall art, etc. Note that not all designs are suitable for vinyl cutting. Please check with Makerspace about appropriate design for the vinyl cutter.
Please watch the video to the right about what is necessary after your design is cut:
After we cut your design, you will be asked to "weed" the parts of the vinyl that are not part of the design.
After "weeding" we will need to adhere your design to transfer tape.
You will then remove the backing from the tape when it is time to apply your design.
